Iranian ‘To Be is Better than not To Be’ to vie in Argentina

Iranian documentary ‘To Be is Better than not To Be’ has been selected to compete at the 2020 International Austral Film Festival (FICA) in Argentina.

This is the second international appearance of Iman Bayatfar’s documentary.

As his documentary continues participating in international events, Bayatfar published a statement that reads, “In this dark time caused by the outbreak of coronavirus, the life of people around the world has changed to a gamble on our being or not being. Though we are in such a situation, the light of independent cinema is still on”.

A synopsis of the doc reads, “In the end truth will be stranger and more unbelievable than reality.”

The documentary has previously been presented at the 3rd Southeast Regional Film Festival in the US.

As mentioned on FICA’s website, “Cinema speaks of society, criticizes it, and represents it. Cinema is a part of society and that’s why we believe in cinema”.

The 2nd edition of the FICA is slated for December 1-5, 2020.
